Divisional Manager – Energy & Environment, TTR
Venn heads up the Energy and Environment Division at TTR and is engaged in a range of projects with a focus on emission reduction via actions on transport infrastructure, planning, vehicles and fuels. Currently he is running a Trans-European Transport Network study on a roadmap for LNG infrastructure rollout across Europe for the HGV sector.
Venn has recently been involved in developing Abu Dhabi’s low emissions zone strategy, developing the latest Government Buying Standards and modelling the impacts of this on CO2 emissions and air quality. Venn has developed and delivered training across Europe on the procurement of low emissions vehicles; he also project manages numerous elements of the European Commission-funded urban electric bus trials (ZeEUS).
Prior to joining TTR, Venn worked in the field of Sustainable Transport at TfL and the GLA, specialising in measures to abate air quality from surface transport, the deployment of low emission vehicles and developing policies and strategies to encourage modal shift to walking, cycling and bus ridership.
This session will examine how successful low-emission zones currently are at improving air quality in city centres and how much further they can be taken in the drive towards zero-emission urban transport…
