Dougie Portwood
Director of Strategic Programme Management, GreenRoad
Dougie is director of strategic programme management for GreenRoad Technologies, a global provider of fleet performance management solutions aimed at achieving best-in-class results from drivers and fleets. Dougie is responsible for managing a portfolio of initiatives as GreenRoad promotes its new mobile technology to further reinforce its position in the marketplace. For 26 years Dougie served in the Armed Forces during which time he was responsible for repairing helicopters. In 1986, whilst still in the forces, he qualified as a large vehicle instructor. For the next 12 years he served as both a driving examiner and road safety officer. On leaving the forces he joined a national bus company as a driver, driver trainer and regional road safety manager, before joining GreenRoad in 2012. Initially working in technical support before moving into change management, Dougie is one of the UK’s leading authorities on road safety and change management within the road transport industry.
