Helen Smith

Head of Logistics & Environment, Transport for Greater Manchester

Helen has been head of logistics and environment for Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) since 2014. She has more than 15 years’ experience working for or with the public sector as well as five years’ experience in the private sector facilities and logistics environment. As a new area of responsibility for TfGM, Helen was brought in especially to co-ordinate the low carbon, air quality and freight/logistics agenda for the whole of Greater Manchester, including safety around goods and construction vehicles. Her remit is to establish the strategies and delivery plans for these key areas. She is also the Greater Manchester lead on the development of the Freight Strategy for the North of England.
