Group Transport Manager, Travis Perkins Group

With a fleet size of more than 4,000 vehicles operating from 2,000 locations in the UK and Ireland, Travis Perkins is the UK’s biggest builders’ merchant, and has the UK’s largest own-account fleet. Peter has more than 35 years’ experience in the transport industry and was involved in the very early development stages of some of the safety systems fitted to today’s commercial vehicles. In his role as a senior manager in the central group transport team, Peter’s focus is on the group’s operation and compliance with responsibility for commercial vehicles, MHE and car fleets. Peter has responsibility for vehicle design and selection, the integration of safety systems to meet the requirements of FORS, CLOCS and major contractors, and driving the implementation of technology for safer, more efficient trucks.
