Camden Council & Green Lane Logistics
Nigel Symonds is the founder of Green Lane Logistics. Nigel started the company in Oct-12 and since then has been helping Camden Council to explore the feasibility of consolidating multiple supplier goods destined to its corporate estate. Since Jan 2014 a concept trial involving 3 other London Boroughs has been underway and operating successfully. It has reduced the number of vehicle trips and kilometres driven to serve council buildings for the goods involved, contributing towards less pollution, congestion and accidents in Outer and Inner London as a result.
Camden will shortly be awarding a framework agreement to a logistics company to provide a consolidation service to public sector organisations throughout London and other UK cities.
Since graduating with an Economics degree from the University of Surrey/ University of North Texas, Nigel has gained 25 years management experience in a variety of supply chain and logistics roles for companies such as Coca Cola Enterprises, Esso Petroleum and SMEs.
This session aims to predict what a future city centre will look like and how the freight sector is already beginning to evolve to meet the expectations of residents, public organisations and businesses…
